More of this Thing Called Chocolate

Some of last weeks excess funds went toward some luxury food items for Valentine’s Day (lost the receipt, you’ll have to take our word for it), including some ice cream and some strawberries. Leftovers of both suffered the same fate today: tarring with homemade molten chocolate sauce that Tina whipped up tonight. What is there to say about chocolate-covered strawberry, really? Let’s not ruin this moment with words.

Chocolate Sauce

1/2 sugar
2 or 3 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1 Tbsp butter
water
pinch of salt

1. Mix sugar, cocoa, and salt in a small saucepan.
2. Warm the mixture over medium heat while adding enough water to make a thick paste.
3. Add the butter, and continue stirring until mixture reaches a boil and then turns…syrupy.
4. Remove from heat and, if desired, add some extract – vanilla or peppermint, for example – or just dump on sweets of all varieties. Or, you know, pickles.
