Year of the Ox Dinner

I know the official start of the Chinese New Year was on Monday, but we’re having folks over tonight.  What’s on the menu?

  • Homemade Dumplings (yes, I made the dough) filled with red cabbage, celery, onions and carrots
  • Wide Fresh Rice Noodles w/Green Vegetables, Homemade Seitan and spicy Ginger & Garlic sauce
  • Homemade Fortune Cookies and Rice Balls Stuffed with Red Bean Paste

Friends will bring the wine and everything will be fine.

The dumplings and red bean paste I made ahead last night (recipes to follow).  I also made a huge batch of seitan in order to have some protein source for the week that wasn’t eggs or beans.  Looking forward to having an evening with friends.
