Haul from Chinatown

Instead of going to Coop, we got some groceries from Chinatown.  Check out the haul!  I figured since we had some money extra from last week, it was a good time to get some condiments that we’ve been wanting.

Hi! Great HAul. What do you do with the dried black fungus . I’ve seen it in my local Chinese market and have no idea how it is used! thanks!

I just use it like a regular dried mushroom – soak in hot water for 15-20 minutes, chop it up and use in soups, stir fries or what have you!

  2. Chinatown is one of my favorite places for groceries! Lots of inexpensive produce and dried goods.

We have a local Asian market that has awesome deals on produce. I am trying to get brave and now buy at least 1 new thing each time I go! Sometimes it works out great….other times, not so much!
