Lo and behold, this week’s receipt! Big ticket item? A package of Vital Wheat Gluten for $4.97. Why? Half a package makes about 10-12 good sized seitan steaks (half to freeze and half for fridge). $2.76 will only get you a tiny tub of the stuff. Making your own seitan is easy and cost efficient. I’ll put up a post about it in the near future. For now:
For those interested, breakfast has been homemade yogurt and homemade granola (pretty standard for the week). Weekend brunch on Sunday was leftover skillet-toasted cornbread with eggs…a must try with leftover cornbread.
